Why is it worth sponsoring the Warsaw Marathon?
Because it is an unusually dynamically developing kind of sport. Polish people have been running in masses for the last several years. Furthermore – younger and younger, and better and better educated people have started to run. Creating brand associations with an extremely trendy (and healthy!) hobby, with outdoor events and a feast of happiness is an investment in the company’s image. Also, for many companies it creates trade possibilities. The marathon and the halfmarathon do not refer only to running, but they also mean events in the downtown of the capital city, which are accompanied by festive parties and various forms of activities throughout the weekend.
Twice a year, the sponsors participate in events at the most representative spots of Warsaw, where they can present themselves and their services. The major runs constitute the core of the communication activities conducted all year round. We initiate them right after the beginning of the year – so as many people as possible can achieve their New Year’s Resolution, stating ‘this year I will start running’. The promotion of the marathon and halfmarathon is preceded by promotional-informative actions in media, in fitness club chains, and on the Internet.
During the period between the halfmarathon and the marathon, we organize a cycle of monthly running events in the form of practice before the marathon - the Warsaw Marathon Cup.
For many years our events have had the reputation of being widely discussed in the media and greatly publicized. With each sponsor we determine his individual needs and a schedule that allows for the optimal exploitation of the marketing opportunities.
The sponsors receive standard exposure on our web site, in the electronic communication of the Foundation, in the press and radio advertisements, on the printed advertising materials and also during the event itself – banner ads, balloons, sponsors’ stands. Additional exposure includes contests and other activities held in accordance with each sponsor individually.
