Warsaw Marathon Foundation organizes Warsaw Marathon, Carrefour Warsaw Halfmarathon and special actions, combining sport activity with social responsability. Our main social action is "Cheering Master Competition" - contest for children from primary schools all around the country.

The “Warsaw Marathon” Foundation was established in 2002. The Foundation took over
organization of the Warsaw Marathon, which had been taking place every year since 1979!
Since then every year brings significant changes regarding organization, size, and the
public’s impression of the event. In the 2002 Warsaw Marathon only 300 runners
participated, while in 2008 that number drastically increased to over 3000! This expansion
was caused not only by the stunning organization skills involved in planning the event, but
also because of the high praise we received from the runners. Every year also brings new
runners from countries other than Poland.

Since 2006 the Foundation also organizes the Carrefour Warsaw Halfharathon. Even though this
race came into existence just two years ago, it’s already met with great interest by both
Polish and foreign runners. In 2009 Carrefour Warsaw Halfharathon was completed by almost 4000 runners!

We have also prepared a special programme for marathon debutants - The Marathon Academy, and special programme for running women - Women Running Team.
