33rd Warsaw Marathon – regulations (excerpts)

1. The race is organized by Warsaw Marathon Foundation (www.maratonwarszawski.com).

2. The race will take place on September 25, 2011 in Warsaw at 9:00 a.m.

3. The length of the course is 42,195 kilometers and it is internationally certified.

4. The course will be marked every kilometer.

5. All runners will be allocated to one of the four starting corrals depending on their current level.

6. The time limit to complete the marathon is 6 hours.

7. Refreshment stations (water) will be placed every 2.5 K starting from kilometer 5. Every other station (beginning with kilometer 10) will offer Powerade (istonic drink) and bananas.

8. All participants of the race must be 18 or older on the race day.

9. The distribution of the race bibs will take place: 22 and 23 September 2011, 4-8 p.m., 24 September – 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., 25 September 2011, 7-9 a.m. Attention: no new entries on the race day.

10. T-shirts will be provided to all race participants, however there is no guarantee of the requested T-shirt size once the payment is made after August 31.

11. To pick up your race kit you need your own ID or your personal race card (to be emailed in September). In case you want to pick up another person’s race card you need to have this person’s race card (signed).

12. All finishers received finisher’s medal.

13. Prize money will be announced on a later date.

14. Entry fees: PLN 100 (ca. 25 euro) by August 31, 2011; PLN 150 September - 1-18, 2011; PLN 200 - after September 19, 2011. After September 18 there will be a pool of 100 numbers for those paying after this date – we cannot guarantee a race bib after this date.

15. The entry fee can be paid with credit card directly from www.maratonwarszawski.com/en.

16. Persons born in 1947 or earlier pay 50% of the sums indicated in p. 14.

17. The confirmation of the payment is a race number shown next to your name on the starting list.

18. No entry fee refunds or transfers. If you wish to cancel your participation you can ask for entry fee transfer to another race by Warsaw Marathon Foundation. The cost of such transfer is PLN 20 and it is only possible by September 10, 2011.

19. The official technical t-shirt of the 33rd Warsaw Marathon can be bought extra for PLN 80, but not later than August 31.

20. The pasta party is paid extra. The pasta party ticket is PLN 10.

21. Race bibs must be worn in front of your race top and must not be modified, cut or folded in any way under the sanction of disqualification.

22. No bikes, roller-blades or walking sticks are allowed.

23. Appeals can be submitted by September 26, 2011, 6 p.m. via info@warsawmarathon.com. The official race results will be announced on September 29.

24. Runners can be asked to undergo doping control. International rules apply.

25. Clothes deposit will be available throughout the race. After the race showers and massage will be available.

26. Teams consisting of at least four persons (including at least 1 woman) can compete in the race. The final result of the team will be made of 4 best times at the finish line (including at least one woman). Teams have to submit a team application by mail (info@warsawmarathon.com) sent not later than September 16, 2011. No changes or new team applications after this date.
