31st WARSAW MARATHON
I. ORGANIZER

II. DATE AND ROUTE
1. The race will take place on September 27, 2009 in the streets of Warsaw.
2. The race will start at 9 a.m. at the Krakowskie PrzedmieĊcie Str. (Royal Duct Str.).
Runners who expect to need more than 6 hours to finish the race will start at 8 a.m.
Runners who expect to need more than 7 hours to finish the race will start at 7 a.m.
3. The details of the course will be available as soon as the course receives necessary official approvals.
4. Distance: 42.195 kilometers. PZLA (Polish Athletic Association) and IAAF-certified.
5. Distance markers every kilometer.
6. No aids, such as roller-skates, in-line blades, cycles or other non-official wheeled vehicles are permitted on the course.
7. 98% of the race course is asphalt, 2% is cobblestone.
8. Start zones:
Elite runners (1-99) in the first zone,
Other runners in respective time zones.
III. TIME LIMIT
1. Time limit: 8 hrs. Streets will be opened for veichles at 3 p.m.
2. Runners are obligated to run the first half of the race up to 12 a.m. After this time runners must get off the course.
All runners who will not finish the marathon by 3 p.m. must get off the course.
IV. WATER AND REFRESHMENT STATIONS, TIME SPLITS
1. Refreshment stations (water and sponges) every 2.5K beginning from 5K. At 5K water only.
Extra water stations (water, isotonic and banans) every 5K, beginning from 10K.
3. Split times will be measured at 10, 21 and 30K. Runners who shorten the course will be disqualificated.
V. PARTICIPATION
1. The race is open to individuals who are already 18 years old on the day of the race.
2. All race participants must undergo verification in the race office on Friday, September 25th (12 a.m. -10 p.m.), Saturday, September 26th (12 a.m. - 10 p.m.) and Sunday, September 27th (6 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.). The Race Office will be placed in the building of Central Agronomic Library, 66 Krakowskie PrzedmieĊcie Str.
3. The race kit to be picked in the race office contains: a race bib, safety pins and a commemorative T-shirt.
4. To successfully undergo identity verification a runner must present a valid ID document with his birthdate and citizenship as well as a race fee payment document (e.g. bank statement).
5. A runner must personally sign a medical declaration or present a medical statement signed by a doctor upon the receipt of the race kit. Any participant unsure of their physical ability to take part in full marathon should take medical advice from a general practitioner prior to the event.
6. Any decisions of the medical crew during the race (including one's continuation of the race) are final.
7. All participants of the race are subject to the respective national track and field federation and these regulations.
8. All participants of individual categories during Flora Warsaw Marathon are subject to respective regulations.
VI. RACE APPLICATION
1. Applying to the race is possible via the on-line entry form on www.maraton2009.pl and by mail on applicable entry forms (photocopies will be respected).
2. Mail applications will be accepted by August 31st, 2009. After this date an application will be only possible on-line.
3. On-line applications will be closed on September 22nd, 2009. After this date the no applications will be accepted.
4. A race application is valid only if it is properly filled-in and signed and if the entry fee has been paid. In case of on-line applications signatures on the applications will be added during the pre-race verification.
5. It is not possible to register in the Race Office and payments will be accepted only from runners who will have registered by September 22nd.
VII. CATEGORIES
1. The following categories will be held during 31 Warsaw Marathon:
General men and women;
Age categories: 20-, 30-, 40-, 50-, 60-, 70-, 80+ men and women;
Team category (separate rules apply):
Media/Journalist sector
Bank sector
Medical sector
Education sector
Academic sector
VIII. PRIZES
1. All marathon finishers will receive commemorative medals.
2. Runners ranked I-III in the general men and general women categories will receive commemorative cups.
3. Runners ranked I-III in age categories will receive commemorative statues.
4. Teams ranked I-III in age categories will receive commemorative statues.
IX. ENTRY FEES
1. Every person participating in Warsaw Marathon will pay the entry fee.
Entry fee is:
40 euro if paid by September 5, 2009,
60 euro if paid by September 22, 2009,
80 euro if paid after September 22, 2009,
80 euro in the Race Office if registered earlier.
3. Fees can be paid with credit card at www.maraton2009.pl with the Davengo system.
4. Entry fees are not refundable or transferrable.
5. Individuals born in or before 1944 and sending in their application forms on or before 31 August 2009 are entitled to 50% discount in the entry fee (respectively of the date of payment).
X. ACCOMODATION AND FOOD
1. Special accomodation offer will be available at www.maraton2009.pl at the begining of May 2009.
2. The pasta party will be held on September 26, 2009. The fee for the pasta party is not included into entry fee
3. After the race, at the finish line, runners will be offered regenerative meal.
XI. FINAL STATEMENTS
1. All the participants must have their race bibs attached to their shirts on their chests. Any bib modifications are prohibited.
2. Runners without their race bibs will be removed from the race course by the race staff.
3. Any complaints connected with time measure will be taken within 24 hours since publication of the first, unofficial results at the race website (www.maraton2009.pl). Complaints will be considered within 14 days.
4. In their race kits runners will receive deposit bags marked with their start number. The depositing point will be situated near the start line. In is not allowed to put into deposit any documents, money or other valuable things. Race organizers assume no responsibility for the deposited luggage - the deposit service is only a favor and leaving your personal items there is your exclusive risk.
5. The 31th Warsaw Marathon diplomas will be available for downloading at www.maraton2009.pl within 14 days after the race.
6. Changing rooms and showers will be situated near the finish line area.
7. After the completion of the race a random anti-doping control will be carried out; every runner appointed by a Doping Control Commission must undergo it under the risk of disqualification.
8. The final interpretation of these regulations is the exclusive right of the organizer of the marathon.
REGULATIONS FOR TEAM CLASSIFICATION
OF THE 31st WARSAW MARATHON
1. Teams representing sports clubs, companies, institutions, other communities as well as groups of competitors running under a common aegis may take part in the team classification.
2. A team consists of minimum 4 persons. There is no upper limit of the number of members of a team.
3. Competitors who are members of subsequent teams are subject to the regulations of the 31st Warsaw Halfmarathon. One competitor may represent one team.
4. The captain is responsible for his/her team. He/She is the only person who:
* registers the team for participation in the team classification,
* decides about the line-up of the team,
* acts on behalf of the team,
* contacts with the organizers of the WM.
5. As the final result of the team shall be regarded the sum of four best times achieved by its members. The winning team is the one whose sum of four mentioned times is the least. In case the run is completed by fewer than 4 competitors representing the team, the team shall not be classified.

Applications for registration of teams may be sent by September 15, 2009. After this date any changes in the line-up of the teams shall not be possible.
7. Team classification is carried out as general classification. We do not divide into age categories here. The organizers reserve the right to organize internal classifications as part of team classification.
9. In case more than one team achieves identical results, the final order in the final classification shall depend on: first, the number of registered competitors (the higher the number - the higher the position) and then the times of the best competitors in a team.
10. The three best teams shall receive trophies.
